LOOKOUT 2027 Brings +LIVE+, Stone Temple Pilots and 4 Non Blondes to Australia
Magic Dirt will join the ’90s alternative-rock heavyweights for a 10-date national tour next March.
LOOKOUT is returning in 2027 with a formidable line-up of ’90s alternative rock, bringing +LIVE+, Stone Temple Pilots and the recently reunited 4 Non Blondes together for a 10-date Australian tour.
Australian favourites Magic Dirt will join the international acts for the run, which begins at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on March 6 before travelling through Bendigo, Canberra, Melbourne, Mornington, Wollongong, Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Broadbeach and Brisbane.
For +LIVE+, the tour brings a catalogue that helped define mainstream alternative rock in the 1990s. The band has sold more than 23 million albums worldwide, with 1994’s Throwing Copper and 1997’s Secret Samadhi both reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Throwing Copper alone sold more than 10 million copies and produced some of +LIVE+’s most enduring songs, including “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone” and “All Over You.” “Lightning Crashes” spent 10 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart.
Stone Temple Pilots will arrive with an equally substantial catalogue. The band broke through with its 1992 debut Core, which featured “Sex Type Thing,” “Wicked Garden” and Grammy-winning single “Plush,” before becoming one of the biggest American rock acts of the decade.
Following the death of original frontman Scott Weiland in 2015, Stone Temple Pilots continued with singer Jeff Gutt. The band’s most recent studio album, Perdida, was released in 2020.
Perhaps the most intriguing name on the LOOKOUT bill is 4 Non Blondes.
Linda Perry reunited with co-founding bassist Christa Hillhouse in 2025, joined by drummer Dawn Richardson and guitarist Roger Rocha, bringing the group back together for the first time in more than three decades.
The band’s sole album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, was released in 1992 and became a platinum-selling success on the back of the enduring “What’s Up?” 4 Non Blondes disbanded in 1994, with Perry subsequently establishing a hugely successful career as a songwriter and producer, working on songs including Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” P!nk’s “Get the Party Started” and Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?”
The reunion has coincided with an extraordinary second life for “What’s Up?” on social media. According to the tour announcement, a TikTok revival generated more than 15 billion views and 5.4 million user-created videos in 2025. The band has also confirmed plans to release a new studio album in 2027 — its first new material since Bigger, Better, Faster, More!
Representing Australia on the bill are Geelong’s Magic Dirt. Formed in 1991 and fronted by Adalita, the band emerged from Australia’s alternative-rock explosion with a reputation for ferocious live performances and records including Friends in Danger, Young & Full of the Devil and What Are Rock Stars Doing Today.
LOOKOUT 2027 opens in Adelaide on March 6 and concludes at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 24.
