Jungle Add Indie-Pop Duo Sports To 2027 Australian Tour
Fresh from announcing their return to Australia, BRIT Award-winning British outfit Jungle have revealed Oklahoma indie-pop duo Sports as the special guests for all dates on their March 2027 national tour.
The pairing brings together two of indie music’s most streamed acts, with Sports arriving in Australia after building a huge global following through their infectious DIY pop. The duo have amassed more than 8.5 million global streams, 68 million YouTube views and attract more than 5.1 million monthly Spotify listeners.
Sports first broke through with their viral debut single ‘You Are The Right One’, which has clocked more than 220 million Spotify streams, before following it up with three acclaimed studio albums. Their latest, self-titled release, sees the band returning to their independent roots, writing, recording and producing the record themselves.
The tour comes at an exciting time for Jungle, who continue to ride the momentum of their 2023 breakthrough album Volcano. The record earned the London trio their first BRIT Award and spawned the global smash ‘Back On 74’, helping elevate the band from festival favourites to arena headliners.
Jungle are also preparing to release their fifth album, Sunshine, on August 14, with recent singles ‘Carry On’, ‘The Wave’ and ‘Someday, Somewhere’ offering a taste of what’s to come. Released earlier this month, Someday, Somewherehas already attracted more than 1.4 million Spotify streams after premiering as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record.
Formed in London by J Lloyd and Tom McFarland in 2013, with longtime collaborator Lydia Kitto joining as an official member in 2024, Jungle have built a reputation for blending soul, disco, funk and hip hop with visually striking live performances.
Across five albums—including Jungle, For Ever, Loving In Stereo and Volcano—the band have amassed more than 3.4 billion streams worldwide while selling out headline shows across the globe, including London’s O2 Arena and appearances at Coachella and All Points East.
Presented by Live Nation and triple j, the Australian leg of Jungle’s world tour kicks off at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 2, before heading to Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on March 4, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on March 6, and wrapping up at Perth’s RAC Arena on March 10.
